A portrait over a weekend
Two days on one face: the drawing on the first, the colour on the second. For those who have already held a brush.

A portrait is not eyes, a nose and a mouth. On the first day we look for the structure: where the light breaks, where the shadow turns, why a face lives without a single detail being drawn. Only pencil and a brush with one colour.
On the second day the colour arrives — and with it the hardest part: skin is not one tone but a dozen, and they have to be laid so that they do not turn to dirt. We work from life: the sitter is with us both days.
